DIVINFOOD participating at “Slow Beans” (Italy)

In December 7th, Francesca Galli (University of Pisa) attended Slow Beans 2024, an event organized by Slow Food in Mormanno, Calabria. This annual gathering highlights the importance of legumes in sustainable food systems, bringing together farmers, researchers, chefs, and activists to discuss the future of food.

The event featured:

  • local producers’ market showcasing Slow Food Presidia legumes.
  • Workshops and a scientific roundtable on the role of legumes in nutrition and agriculture.
  • The fun Fagioliadi, a cooking competition celebrating bean-based recipes.
  • A connection with Perciavutti, a traditional festival marking the tasting of new wine.

Legumes are nutritious, soil-enriching, and environmentally friendly, making them key to a resilient and fair food system.
