DIVINFOOD at the “Transformative Governance for Food Systems and Biodiversity” Conference in Copenhagen
On 3 December 2025, Yuna Chiffoleau (INRAE) and Dalia Mattioni (University of Pisa) co-organised a workshop during the international conference Transformative Governance for Food Systems and Biodiversity, held in Copenhagen to mark the launch of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The conference gathered policymakers, researchers and civil society representatives to discuss how governance frameworks can better align food systems, biodiversity and climate objectives across local, national and European levels.
Within this broader programme of plenary sessions and thematic exchanges on policy coherence and cross-sector collaboration, the DIVINFOOD workshop focused on how public policies can support a greater use of agrobiodiversity in food environments. Discussions explored policy tools such as public procurement, labelling, territorial food strategies and support for diversified value chains. The workshop provided valuable insights for DIVINFOOD’s Work Package 5, dedicated to governance and policy levers for crop diversification.
DIVINFOOD partners Luca Colombo (FIRAB) and Rune-Christoffer Bech Dragsdahl (Danish Vegetarian Association) contributed to the discussions alongside other invited experts. Exchanges also drew on perspectives from integrated public policy approaches, with the example of water governance illustrating how coordinated action across sectors can support systemic change.
