Call for papers on the theme: ‘Exploring Diverse Ways of Valuing Agrobiodiversity in Food Chains’

Yuna CHIFFOLEAU (INRAE, France), Francesca GALLI (University Pisa, Italy) and Dalia MATTIONI (University Pisa, Italy) will be leading a session entitled ‘Reversing the Trend of Agrobiodiversity Loss: Exploring Diverse Ways of Valuing Agrobiodiversity in Food Chains’ at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology in Rabat (Morocco) from 6 to 11 July 2025.

This session, proposed in collaboration with DIVINFOOD, invites papers that explore the different ways in which agrobiodiversity is valorized in food chains, be it through more “mainstream” approaches such as subsidies or regulations, or through innovations developed at grassroots level, or further still, through a (dynamic) mix of approaches. We welcome papers that address specific points of the value chain or that cut across value chain segments, such as local food policies. We also welcome papers that provide new theoretical insights or that enrich the slim empirical base of this area of research.
